Construction worker injured in fall from roof; OSHA investigates

www.seacoastonline.com

Federal OSHA officials are investigating the Tuesday morning fall of a laborer from the 2-1/2 story roof of a condominium under construction on Mill Pond Way.

New construction at the site, between the Mill Pond and Dennett Street, follows three years of litigation, which began when developer Steve Kelm filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the city and ended with an out-of-court settlement.

Police were called to the construction site on Tuesday at 9:28 a.m. with a report of the fall and a request to “secure” the area until an OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) investigator arrived. According to Frank Pagliuca, OSHA’s acting area director, the roof worker was injured, but the extent and nature of his injuries can not be disclosed while the accident is being investigated.
