ASSE Attendees Told OSHA Enforcement Alive and Kicking

Richard Fairfax, Director of OHSA enforcement, spoke this week at the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE ) Safety 2008 conference being held in Las Vegas about OSHA enforcement initiatives for this year, and what businesses can expect from OSHA enforcement in the year ahead. Ladder-related falls and ladder rule violations are on the increase. Falls from ladders are a growing problem in the construction industry, and the ladder standard is the third most frequently violated construction rule. Construction businesses can expect to see more OSHA inspections related to ladder safety.
