Fort Rich cited as repeat OSHA violator

www.ktuu.com

The U.S. Army is the target of a federal citation for eight safety violations and seven repeat violations at Fort Richardson. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration citation targets the directorate of public works, an area staffed with engineers and power plant workers that deals with new building development. OSHA's website calls the violations "serious" and says its inspection turned up a lack of training, proper inspections and improper maintenance. The Seattle regional administration office found the number of serious, repeated violations particularly disturbing. Fort Richardson officials, however, say there were no repeat violations and that the majority of new violations have since been addressed.
