Resources for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)Oregon OSHA issues heat advisorywww.oregonlive.com As the hot weather comes roaring into Portland, Oregon's workplace safety agency is warning workers and employers that a summer's day isn't just uncomfortable. It can be dangerous. In the past five years, the agency says, 32 workers went on workers compensation for three or more days because of heat-related illnesses. Construction workers can be at greater risk for heat illnesses from exertion, sun exposure or work in an enclosed space such as the operator's cab of a machine.
