Mansfield Post Office Receives OSHA's Top Safety Award

The Mansfield Post Office was honored Wednesday by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration for its commitment to safety and health.

OSHA presented the post office its prestigious VPP, Voluntary Protection Program Star Worksite Award. VPP is an OSHA cooperative program that promotes effective worksite based safety and health.

Postmaster Randy Ballard says the post office is the first companby in city of Mansfield and Richland County to receive the award which is attributed to the outstanding efforts of its employees to maintain a safe work environment.

Mayor Donald Culliver and State Representative Jay Goyal presented the post office with a proclamation and commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives for receiving the award.

The ceremony ended with the presentation and raising of the VPP flag. The post office is the 116 postal site to be named a VPP Star Worksite. There are currently 2,000 sites in the nation and 152 in the process of becoming VPP Star Worksites.
