RSA, the security division of EMC has introduced the worldwide availability of the RSA SecurID 1100 Display Card. This is an event-based, One-Time Password (OTP) authenticator and comes in a flexible card form-factor and can be easily carried in a wallet or purse. It is designed to help financial institutions and their customers secure online accounts and transactions with two-factor authentication.

It aims to solve the problems faced by financial institutions, ensuring that their customers are protected by strong authentication in an easy-to-use manner. With the push of a button, a new one-time password is generated on the card's display. This provides organizations the two-factor authentication capabilities to protect consumer's online financial transactions including account access, bill payment, and money transfers.

Mark Diodati, identity and privacy analyst with Burton Group said, "The card-shaped form factor of the OTP can improve security and usability for consumers. The form factor is harmonized with the way that consumers interact with financial institution Web sites. The technology also works well when consumers carry multiple OTPs in their wallets for access to multiple financial institutions."
