Business hails looser SOX rules, but wants changes

Recent changes to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act are a good start to make the process less costly for businesses, but more are needed, say Maryland business officials.The part of the law that is particularly onerous is Section 404, which calls for an outside auditor to certify internal controls, said Phyllis Burlage, president of Burlage & Associates, a small accounting firm in Millersville.
